One can be instructed in society, one is inspired only in solitude. -Johann Goethe

I got a lot of inquires on my last post “Unplugging” in the last 24hrs and felt I need to elaborate. First of all, everything is fine. I’m fine… my family is fine… this is something I need to do. Think of this as a reboot or a refresh.

So, how is this time away from Twitter, Facebook, and all things web going to work? To clarify I’m completely unplugging… going offline… going off the grid. I cannot be completely severed but will need to still have email for my job. To prevent me from sneaking a peak or trying to interact during this time I’ve done the following:

• Deleted apps from computer and phone
• Unhooked device notification from all services
• Had someone change my passwords

How long will this last? I’m feeling a month. Could be 2, 6, 12. Who knows. I’m excited to get started reboot, refresh, and rethink things.

Appreciate all of you, your friendship, and insight. I look forward to reconnecting again soon. If you need to get a hold of me, I’m still an email away. See you soon!

Again I say good call. I'm not going cold turkey but I plan to pull back. Spend too much time on-line not even really interacting just trying to be funny or inspiring when I need to channel that energy to those around me. Hope to hear how it went.

gotta tell ya…this made me think. i mean, i by no means am "on" more than most or rely too heavily on tech, but @ the very least your post made me re-think what i am doing telling people i just unclogged my toilet on a tweet. hope your social experiment-cause that IS what it is-goes well & that your family enjoys more daddy time. as the kids say, holla at your boy
